Orlando & Monique

We’d been hiking along the coast all morning — wind in our hair, salt in the air, and that kind of silence you only get when the waves are louder than your thoughts. He kept checking his phone for the time, which I thought was weird since we had nowhere to be.
Then we reached this overlook — jagged rocks, turquoise water, and a view that made us both stop talking. I turned around to say something, and he was already kneeling.
I froze. He didn’t say much, just looked up at me with that nervous half-smile and opened the box. The ring sparkled like it had been waiting for the sun to hit it just right.
I said yes. I think I laughed and cried at the same time.
We stayed there for a while after, just listening to the waves crash and watching the birds drift by. The ring is perfect — simple, elegant, and somehow feels like it belongs to this place.
Every time I wear it, I think about that moment — the wind, the water, and the way everything else faded except him.
