We weren’t even planning anything special that day. It was just a lazy Saturday morning, and we decided to grab coffee and our favorite blueberry cake at the little café on the corner.
Halfway through, he offered me a bite, and I laughed because he never shares dessert. But when I took it, I felt something small and solid. I looked down, and there it was — a ring, nestled between the blueberries.
I froze. He was already smiling, a little nervous, and said, ‘I figured this was the sweetest way to ask.’
It wasn’t staged, it wasn’t fancy — it was us. And that’s exactly why I said yes.
