William & Brittany

We’d been walking along the lake all morning, stopping every so often to watch the birds drift by. The air was warm but soft, and the mountains in the distance looked like they were wrapped in clouds.
When we reached the end of the dock, I thought we were just going to take in the view. Then he turned to me, took my hands, and suddenly he was down on one knee.
I don’t remember exactly what he said — just the sound of the water, the way the boards creaked under us, and the look on his face when he opened the ring box.
I said yes, of course. And then we just stood there, the lake stretching out in front of us, the world feeling still in a way it never does.
The ring is perfect — simple, timeless, and it catches the light like the water that day. Every time I see it, I’m right back on that dock, with the sun on my shoulders and the future in front of me.
