Glenn & Dana

We’d spent the whole day swimming, eating way too much poke, and trying to find the quietest stretch of beach before sunset. I remember the sand was still warm, and the sky had that soft orange glow that makes everything feel a little surreal.
He asked me to take a walk right before it got dark. I thought he just wanted to get one last photo — he’s always chasing the light. But then he stopped, looked at me, and said, “I’ve been carrying this around all week.”
I didn’t even realize what he meant until he pulled out the ring. I think I said “wait, are you serious?” like three times before I actually said yes.
The ring is beautiful — simple, but it catches the light in this way that feels kind of unreal. I keep looking at it and thinking about that moment, the waves behind us, the way he smiled like he’d been waiting forever to ask.
We didn’t tell anyone until the next morning. Just sat on the beach, watched the stars come out, and let it sink in.
